About Idaho Criminal History

Idaho criminal records are divided among several government systems. Idaho State Police BCI maintains the fingerprint-supported central repository. The Idaho Department of Correction tracks state custody and felony supervision, the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry publishes authorized registry data, and Idaho courts maintain case files. Sheriffs, police departments, jails, and District Court clerks create and keep many local records across 44 counties. Idaho Criminal History organizes those routes so readers can identify the statewide system or county source that holds the information they need.

Why We Built This Site

Public Idaho records do not sit in one database. ISP BCI compiles fingerprint-supported Idaho arrest history reported to the central repository, while the Idaho iCourt Portal provides basic case information from all counties. The Idaho Department of Correction covers state custody and adult felony supervision. The Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry serves a different public-safety function. Local sheriffs, jails, police departments, and District Court clerks still hold the original booking, incident, custody, and court materials. Idaho Criminal History brings those statewide routes together, then connects readers with the Idaho county directory when the needed source is local.

What We Cannot Do

Idaho Criminal History is a privately run reference site with no affiliation to an Idaho court, sheriff, police department, ISP BCI, or any other government agency. Those limits matter:

  • We cannot issue a certified court document, criminal history, or rap sheet
  • We cannot order an official check or retrieve a person's criminal record
  • We cannot submit a public-record request, shielding petition, or expungement application for a reader
  • We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, judgment, or remedy as legal advice
  • We cannot promise that an agency's address, fee, phone number, or procedure has not changed

An official record must come from the office that created or maintains it, such as ISP BCI, the filing court, IDOC, or the responsible county agency.
